Expertise built over eight years in Bangkok's family courts
The lawyers at Baan Phak Legal have been working on custody matters in the Bangkok courts since 2017. That is not a long time in the span of a legal career, but it is long enough to have developed a precise, practical understanding of how these courts work — which arguments carry weight, which types of documentation are scrutinised carefully, and what realistic timelines look like for different types of matter.
We work only in family law. That focus means every hour we spend in a court, reading a file, or drafting a submission is contributing to a body of knowledge that is directly relevant to our clients' situations.
A process built around the client, not around the firm
Most legal practices are structured around the needs of the practice — high caseloads, minimal partner time, delegation to junior staff. Baan Phak Legal was deliberately set up differently. We keep our caseload small enough that each matter receives genuinely attentive work from the lawyer responsible for it.
Our process was also designed with the experience of the client in mind. Documents are shared before submission. Meetings produce written notes. Strategy decisions are presented to you as options — with their trade-offs explained clearly — not as instructions to follow. You are involved at every step, not simply updated at the end.
Pricing that is stated, fixed, and without surprises
Family law matters can be stressful enough without uncertainty about what they are going to cost. We state our fees before work begins: 5,200 THB for a parental arrangement consultation, 8,800 THB for documentation support, and 13,800 THB for full proceedings representation.
If the scope of a matter changes significantly — because new information emerges or the proceedings take an unexpected direction — we discuss any revision with you in writing before doing any additional work. There are no invoices at the end that look different from what was agreed at the beginning.

Three things we do that few family law practices do
First session produces a written note
Even the initial consultation ends with a short document. It records what each parent has said they want, what is already agreed, and what still needs to be resolved. Most practices produce no written record of a first meeting.
Document language is adjustable on request
When we draft a statement or a submission on your behalf, you can ask for changes to wording or emphasis at any point before it is submitted. The document should represent you accurately — not just satisfy the form.
Services are structured as progressive stages
You do not need to commit to full proceedings representation from the outset. Begin with a consultation, add documentation support if needed, and progress to representation only if the matter requires it. Each stage stands alone.
