Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 12 May 2025

These terms set out the basis on which Baan Phak Legal provides its services and on which this website is made available to visitors. They are intended to be clear and readable. If anything is unclear, please contact us before engaging our services.

1. About Baan Phak Legal

Baan Phak Legal is a family law practice operating in Bangkok, Thailand. Our registered office is at 88 Soi Sukhumvit 39, Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110. We can be reached by telephone at +66 2 825 3147 or by email at [email protected].

The lawyers and staff at Baan Phak Legal are subject to the professional rules and ethical standards of the Lawyers Council of Thailand. Our services are provided in accordance with those obligations.

2. Scope of these terms

These terms apply to:

By using this website or contacting us, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms. Client engagements are also governed by a separate client care letter, which will be provided at the outset of the matter and should be read alongside these terms.

3. Use of this website

This website is provided for general informational purposes. The content describes our services and gives information about the areas of family law in which we practise. It does not constitute legal advice, and nothing on this website creates a lawyer-client relationship.

You may browse and use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any content from this website without our prior written consent.

We make reasonable efforts to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date. However, legal information can change, and we cannot be held responsible for any reliance placed on website content alone. If you have a specific legal question, please contact us directly.

4. Our legal services

A formal engagement of Baan Phak Legal begins when we have confirmed acceptance in writing and a client care letter has been provided and acknowledged. An initial enquiry or website form submission does not itself create an engagement, and we are not obligated to accept any matter.

The scope of any legal work will be described in the client care letter for that matter. We will not undertake work that falls outside the agreed scope without prior discussion and agreement with you.

We provide services in relation to family law matters arising in or connected to Thailand. We do not provide advice on the laws of other jurisdictions except where a specific arrangement has been agreed in advance.

5. Fees and payment

Our fee structure for the services described on this website is as follows:

Fees are quoted in Thai Baht and are inclusive of the services described in the relevant service descriptions on this website. Disbursements — such as court filing fees, document certification costs, or fees charged by third parties — are not included and will be invoiced separately with prior notice.

Payment terms for each matter will be set out in the client care letter. We reserve the right to request a payment on account before commencing work on a matter.

6. Confidentiality

Information shared with us in connection with a legal matter is treated as confidential. We will not disclose your information to any third party except as required to conduct your matter, as required by law, or with your consent. This obligation of confidentiality continues after the conclusion of the matter.

Please note that communications through the website contact form, prior to the establishment of a formal client relationship, are treated with care but do not carry the same legal protections as solicitor-client privilege. Privilege attaches once a formal engagement is in place.

7. Limitation of liability

Our liability to you in connection with the services we provide is limited to losses that are a direct and reasonably foreseeable consequence of a failure to exercise reasonable professional care and skill. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Our liability for services provided through this website or in connection with an engagement is limited to the amount of fees paid for the relevant service.

8. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, design, layout, and logo — is the property of Baan Phak Legal or is used with permission. You are welcome to share links to our website, but reproduction of our content without permission is not permitted.

Documents and written work we prepare for you in the course of a client engagement are provided for your personal use in connection with the relevant matter. They may not be reproduced or published without our prior written agreement.

9. External links

This website may contain links to external websites — for example, to official court or government resources. These are provided for your convenience. We are not responsible for the content or accuracy of any external website, and a link does not imply endorsement.

10. Complaints

We take our professional obligations seriously and aim to provide a service of consistent quality. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work, please contact us directly in the first instance so that we can try to resolve the matter:

If you remain unsatisfied following our response, you may refer the matter to the Lawyers Council of Thailand in accordance with their published procedures.

11. Governing law

These terms and any engagement with Baan Phak Legal are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the website after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For ongoing client matters, material changes to our terms of engagement will be communicated directly.
